Fostering international competitiveness


Ltd “Biznesa, mākslas un tehnoloģiju augstskola “RISEBA” 27.03.2024. signed an agreement No 17.1-1-L-2024/177 with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia on receiving support for export assistance under the project “SME Innovative Business Development” co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.


Concluding the active period of student attraction exhibitions, Gaļina Zilgalve, Head of the External Relations Department of RISEBA University of Applied Sciences, visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, where on 30 March 2024 and 31 March 2024 she participated in the Begin Southeast Asia Tour organised by Begin Group.

Galina gave a detailed presentation of the opportunities and study programmes offered by RISEBA and provided information about Latvia and migration issues related to staying in Latvia during studies. She also shared about other opportunities the university provides for students, such as ERASMUS+ and double degree programmes, study scholarship opportunities, various events, internship opportunities, and other resources.

Continuing active work on attracting students for the new academic year, Inese Kukle, Director of the RISEBA bachelor programme “European Business Studies”, visited the Baltic Council International Education Exhibition “Baltic Days of International Education” in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 17 March 2024.

Visitors had the opportunity to meet with a RISEBA representative at the university’s stand to receive detailed information about available study programmes, costs and application processes. The Bachelor’s programmes “Audiovisual Media Arts” and “Architecture” were of particular interest, as they are to other residents of the Baltic States.

On 14 March 2024, RISEBA Student Recruitment Project Manager Kārlis Ploks represented RISEBA at the Baltic Council International Education Fair “Days of international Education” in Tallinn, Estonia.

Working at the university’s stand, Kārlis informed the visitors about study opportunities at RISEBA Universiy of Applied Scineces and the admission process, and he also provided practical information about life in Latvia.

It should be noted that most of the interest was in RISEBA’s creative bachelor programmes, especially “Audiovisual Media Arts” and “Architecture”.

On 10 March 2024, RISEBA Student Recruitment Project Manager Kārlis Ploks represented the university at the international education fair “Begin Eurasia Tour” in Baku, Azerbaijan, organised by Begin Group.

Actively working at the university’s stand, Kārlis told the visitors about study opportunities at RISEBA University of Applied Sciences and the admission process, as well as provided practical information on everyday life issues.

On 2 March 2024, RISEBA representative Kārlis Ploks, Student Recruitment Project Manager, visited Begin Eurasia Tour, a student recruitment fair organised by Begin Group in Cairo, Egypt.

During the exhibition, the visitors were informed about RISEBA study programmes, tuition fees, application criteria, as well as other practical information.

On 1 March 2024, RISEBA University of Applied Sciences participated in the International Student Recruitment Fair in Turkey for the first time. During the Begin Group exhibition “Begin Eurasia Tour”, Head of External Relation separtment, Gaļina Zilgalve presented RISEBA University of Applied Sciences and the study programmes, as well the admission rules.

More interest was shown in Faculty of Architecture and Design and Architecture study programmes.

Foreign Students Coordinator, Ms. Karine Manucharyan, from RISEBA’s External Relations Department, took part in the Begin Group exhibition in Kazakhstan’s two largest cities, Astana and Almaty, on 24 and 25 February 2024.

During the exhibitions held in both cities, the visitors had the opportunity to visit the RISEBA University of Applied Sciences stand and get detailed information about the study programmes, admission procedures, student life in Riga and study experience in general, as well as about additional opportunities available for the university students.

Karine Manucharyan, Foreign Student Coordinator at RISEBA External Relations department, participated in Begin Group’s foreign student attraction exhibition “Begin Central Asia Tour” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 22 February 2024.

During the fair potential students met with a representative of RISEBA University of Applied Sciences at the booth and learned about study opportunities in Latvia, the admission procedure, as well as other practical matters.

On May the 30th, 2016 Ltd. “Biznesa, mākslas un tehnoloģiju augstskola “RISEBA”” signed with LIAA the contract No SKV-L-2016/386 on receiving support within the framework of the measure ” Fostering International Competitiveness”, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

At the end of March and the beginning of April this year, Gaļina Zilgalve, Head of External Relations Department at RISEBA, visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. During the visit several events took place:

  • On March 31st, G. Zilgalve participated in the “NET24 Agent Workshop Hanoi” in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. During the event, several meetings were held with potential student recruitment agents. During the workshops with many of the agents, different solutions were found for further cooperation opportunities related to attracting foreign students to study at RISEBA.
  • On April 1st and 2nd, Begin Group International Education Exhibitions took place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam. G. Zilgalve presented the opportunities offered by the university, study programmes, as well as provided information about studying in Latvia, migration issues related to staying in.

Latvia during studies, as well as about other opportunities that RISEBA offers to students (including ERASMUS+ and double degree opportunities, study scholarship opportunities, various events, internship opportunities, etc.).
Vietnam is a new and potential market and RISEBA will already this year start cooperation on attracting Vietnamese students with several student recruitment agents from this country.

In March this year, Anastasija Kižlo, Head of the RISEBA Study Department, participated in Begin Group international education fairs in Baku (Azerbaijan) and Tbilisi (Georgia). During the fairs, the visitors were informed about RISEBA study programmes, tuition fees, application criteria, as well as other practical information.

Continuing active work on attracting students for the new academic year, Gaļina Zilgalve, Head of External Relations Department at RISEBA, visited the Baltic Council International Education Fair “Baltic Days of International Education” in Vilnius, Lithuania, on February the 26th 2023. At the fair, the visitors had the opportunity to meet the RISEBA representative at the university’s stand, find out more detailed information about the available study programmes, costs and application processes. Similarly to other Baltic neighbours, the Bachelor programmes “Audiovisual Media Arts” and “Architecture” attracted more interest.

On February the 23rd, 2023, Kārlis Ploks, Marketing and Communication Project Manager at RISEBA, represented the university at the international education fair “Baltic Days of International Education” in Tallinn, Estonia, organised by Baltic Council Ltd.

Kārlis was actively working at the university’s stand, telling the visitors about study opportunities at RISEBA and the admission process, as well as providing practical information on everyday life issues.

It should be mentioned that RISEBA’s creative bachelor study programmes – Audiovisual Media Arts and Architecture – attracted more interest.

During the exhibitions in the above-mentioned cities, the visitors had the opportunity to meet a RISEBA representative at the university’s stand and learn more about the study programmes offered by RISEBA, the admission process, student life in Riga, the study period, as well as about the opportunities offered by the university to students.
