Due to the number of applications received, applications for the Latvian-language daytime study group of the Audiovisual Art and Media Art programme are now closed.

However, applications for the Audiovisual Art and Media Art study programme remain open for:

• The English-language daytime study group – applications are open until 24 August.
• The Latvian-language evening study group – applications are open until 31 August.

We encourage prospective students to take advantage of the opportunity to apply for the study format and language stream that best suits them.

Architecture*

As an international applicant, your admission process differs from local applicants. You are not required to travel to Riga for on-site entrance exams. Instead, the selection committee evaluates your potential based on two key components:

1. The Digital Portfolio – Your Creative Showcase

Since you will not take the physical drawing exam, the admission committee places a heightened emphasis on your digital portfolio to evaluate your artistic potential, spatial thinking, and technical skills.

• Requirements: The portfolio must consist of 12 horizontal A3 pages in PDF format.
• Content: It should demonstrate your skills in freehand drawing (understanding of perspective, proportions, and composition), technical drafting, sketching, and other creative works (painting, photography, etc.).
• Submission: Send your portfolio to [email protected] or provide a download link (PDF up to 5 MB) by your application date.

2. Mandatory Online Interview

Every international applicant must participate in an online interview with the Program Director via Zoom or another video platform. This interview is designed to verify your motivation, discuss your portfolio, and ensure the program is the right fit for your career goals. We will contact you to schedule this once your application is received.

• Application Deadline: For international students, the application deadline is July 6, 2026 at 23:59. (submit your application here: my.riseba.lv )
• English Proficiency: You must demonstrate English language skills at least at the B2 level. This can be proven via international certificates (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.) or the RISEBA English test.
• Results: Applicants will be notified of the admission decision via the email address provided in the application system after the evaluation of the portfolio and the completion of the interview.
