European Business Studies

Professional bachelor’s programme 240 ECTS

The programme aims to develop forward-thinking international business leaders and managers equipped with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to excel in a global environment. Combining a strong focus on management excellence, a deep understanding of European business practices, proficiency across EU languages, and expertise in digitalisation, sustainability and social responsibility, the programme fosters resilience, applied research and creativity. It is accredited not only by the Latvian state but also holds the prestigious EFMD accreditation, which confirms the high quality of studies and international recognition.

Double degree

Students enrolled in the program have the opportunity to earn diplomas from two universities within four years. In addition to the RISEBA diploma, they can obtain a second bachelor’s degree from one of the partner universities:

  • Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Finland
  • OTH Regensburg, Germany

The programme has been awarded the prestigious EFDM accreditation, which certifies its internationally recognised academic quality. The content of European Business Studies is oriented towards international business and its current trends, providing students with an understanding of both Latvian and European business. During the course of studies, you can learn French and Spanish, which broadens your opportunities in business communication.

The programme prepares international business managers and leaders able to operate in a multicultural environment, learning key business management skills such as strategy development, financial planning and negotiating with clients and partners.

The in-person studies are conducted in English and are characterised by a practical approach to study courses, which is also confirmed by the internationally recognised EFMD accreditation. Alongside the theoretical courses, there are business simulation games and professional internships, including a compulsory international internship in France. To help students more successfully search for and find an internship, RISEBA University operates a Student Career Centre. Students have the opportunity to participate in international conferences and seminars organised by RISEBA, as well as guest lectures conducted by various foreign business leaders. The authors of new business ideas have the opportunity to implement their ideas in the RISEBA Creative Business Incubator, receiving support from mentors, coaches, specialists, cooperation partners and experienced start-up and business leaders.

The international scope of the topics covered in the programme and the languages of study prepare graduates for work in leading positions in international companies, organisations, banks, consulting and auditing companies in the field of finance, marketing management, sales, project and human resources management and other fields. The knowledge gained from the studies also allows a student to set up his/her own companies in Latvia and abroad, with the aim of developing its activities in Europe and worldwide.

Double degree study mobility
2nd and 3rd year students have the opportunity to participate in a double degree exchange programme and go to the partner universities:

Students are selected on the basis of their academic results and their English language skills.

Any student of the bachelor’s programme who has completed at least one year of study can participate in the Erasmus+ exchange programme.
A student can study for 1 or 2 semesters at one of RISEBA’s partner universities. The duration of study mobility is 2–12 months.
The student does not have to pay for the period spent in the study and internship exchange programme abroad; the tuition fee is covered by the partner university, but the student continues to pay the RISEBA tuition fee. For the period spent abroad during mobility, the student is awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to cover the costs of transport and accommodation.
* Erasmus+ internship mobility provides that a student can undergo an internship in one of the companies of interest in one of the Erasmus+ programme countries. For this internship period, the student receives an Erasmus+ scholarship. The duration of internship mobility is 2–12 months.
