The study programme “Business Management” provides an opportunity to acquire modern, practice-oriented knowledge and skills in company management within a dynamic business environment. The study content combines management science, economics, finance, marketing, business law, logistics, and digital competencies required for successful operation in today’s business world.
During the studies, students develop strategic thinking and acquire essential competencies for business management, including leadership, project management, human resource and financial management, data analysis, business communication, and decision-making. The programme places particular emphasis on the use of information technologies and data analytics in business, innovation, and business development planning.
The curriculum includes study courses such as microeconomics and macroeconomics, accounting, management science, marketing, business English, information technologies and data analysis, as well as business legal regulation. Students strengthen their knowledge through practical assignments, project development, and course papers, developing the ability to adapt to a changing business environment and successfully manage business processes.
Graduates are prepared for careers in business management, project coordination, marketing, customer relationship management, business development, and other areas of entrepreneurship in both local and international environments.

Both part-time on-campus and distance learning study modes are delivered in a modern and dynamic learning environment, making use of the latest information technologies and interactive teaching methods. Lectures are complemented by practical assignments, discussions, case studies, group projects, simulations and hands-on workshops, enabling students to develop the communication, collaboration, leadership and problem-solving skills that are essential in today’s business environment.
Throughout the programme, particular emphasis is placed on gaining practical experience and applying theoretical knowledge to real-world business situations. Students analyse business cases, address contemporary business challenges and develop projects that foster strategic thinking and innovation. The study process also promotes the development of digital competencies, data analysis skills and the ability to make well-informed managerial decisions in a dynamic business environment.
The curriculum covers key areas of contemporary business, including business management and development, strategic management, international business, business in the digital environment, digital marketing, innovation management, financial management, project management, and the application of information technology solutions in business. Throughout their studies, students also enhance their presentation, negotiation, teamwork and project planning skills, all of which are essential for a successful professional career.
The programme is delivered by experienced academic staff and industry professionals who enrich the learning experience with up-to-date business examples and practical insights. This ensures a strong connection between academic knowledge and business practice, preparing graduates for successful careers in the private, public and international sectors, as well as for establishing and developing their own businesses.
In the 3rd year of studies, students have the opportunity to choose one of two specialisations:
Business Management: The study courses focus on developing business management and organisational growth competencies, covering topics such as online business development, managerial decision-making, professional development of managers, business coaching, and international business.
Business Management in the Digital Environment: This specialisation provides in-depth knowledge of digital solutions and technologies in business, including multimedia technologies, e-commerce and payment systems, social media marketing, internet marketing methods, and information security solutions.

Graduates of this study programme become managers of Latvian and international organisations, heads of divisions or departments. The knowledge a student gains also enables him/her to set up and run his/her own business. With a diploma in “Business Studies”, there are plenty of career opportunities in projects where it is necessary to develop and manage business processes in a digital environment.

Any student of the bachelor’s programme who has completed at least one year of study can participate in the Erasmus+ exchange programme. A student can study for 1 or 2 semesters at one of RISEBA’s partner universities. The duration of study mobility is 2–12 months. The student does not have to pay for the period spent in the study and internship exchange programme abroad; the tuition fee is covered by the partner university, but the student continues to pay the RISEBA tuition fee. For the period spent abroad during mobility, the student is awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to cover the costs of transport and accommodation. * Erasmus+ internship mobility provides that a student can undergo an internship in one of the companies of interest in one of the Erasmus+ programme countries. For this internship period, the student receives an Erasmus+ scholarship. The duration of internship mobility is 2–12 months. Find out more about Erasmus+ and how to apply here!
