The programme “Business Management” is an opportunity to acquire organisation management skills in a modern study environment, combining business management, management studies, economic and financial principles, marketing and logistics topicalities, skills and competences in a digital environment. The study programme strengthens the skills required for a manager: leadership, project management, financial resource management, strategic thinking, human resource management, etc.

There are plenty of lectures in both full-time and part-time studies, and the teaching staff uses the latest IT technologies, which ensure convenient and interactive study methods. In order to develop the communication and teamwork skills that are necessary in business, practical work (discussions, study tours, practical sessions in companies, as well as the INTOPIA game, where students have the opportunity to manage the operations of a multinational company for two years on an interactive platform, analysing financial performance on a quarterly basis) plays a major role in studies.

In the 3rd year of study, a student has the opportunity to choose one of two specialisations:

  1. Business Management – Business on the Internet, Management Decision Making, Executive Professional Development, Business Coaching, International Business.
  2. Business Management in a Digital Environment – Multimedia Technologies, Electronic Commerce and Payment Systems, Social Media Marketing, Internet Marketing Methods, Information Security Solutions.

Graduates of this study programme become managers of Latvian and international organisations, heads of divisions or departments. The knowledge a student gains also enables him/her to set up and run his/her own business. With a diploma in “Business Studies”, there are plenty of career opportunities in projects where it is necessary to develop and manage business processes in a digital environment.

Double degree study mobility
3rd and 4th year students have the opportunity to participate in a double degree exchange programme and go to the partner university Haaga Helia University of Applied Science in Finland. Students are selected on the basis of their academic results and their English language skills.

Any student of the bachelor’s programme who has completed at least one year of study can participate in the Erasmus+ exchange programme.
A student can study for 1 or 2 semesters at one of RISEBA’s partner universities. The duration of study mobility is 2–12 months.
The student does not have to pay for the period spent in the study and internship exchange programme abroad; the tuition fee is covered by the partner university, but the student continues to pay the RISEBA tuition fee. For the period spent abroad during mobility, the student is awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to cover the costs of transport and accommodation.
* Erasmus+ internship mobility provides that a student can undergo an internship in one of the companies of interest in one of the Erasmus+ programme countries. For this internship period, the student receives an Erasmus+ scholarship. The duration of internship mobility is 2–12 months.
