From the 2009/2010 study year, RISEBA University has a Promotion Council in the field of economics and business science, which consists of experts in the relevant field of science from several universities recognised by the Latvian Council of Science.
The Promotion Council of RISEBA University works in the field of economics and business science. Its activities are regulated by the Promotion Council Regulations, the Law on Scientific Activity, Cabinet Regulation No. 1001 of 27.12.2005 “Procedures and Criteria for the Conferral of a Doctoral Degree in Science” and Cabinet Regulation No. 1000 of 27.12.2005 “On Delegation of Powers to Confer the Doctoral Degree (Promotion) to Higher Education Institutions”.
The Doctoral Council accepts doctoral theses for examination, aligns the academic performance of the degree candidate with the requirements of the doctoral programme, evaluates doctoral theses, ensures the public defence of doctoral theses and the award of the degree, and provides a post-defence procedure.
