RISEBA Students Represent Latvia at the International Final of the Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest
From 23 to 25 June 2026, the international final of the Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest took place in Belgrade, Serbia, bringing together students of architecture, construction, design, and engineering from around the world.
Latvia was represented by RISEBA Faculty of Architecture and Design students Toms Herings and Kitija Lejniece, who had previously won the national stage of the competition.
The Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest is one of the world’s leading international competitions for architecture students and has been held annually since 2004. Its aim is to give students the opportunity to work on a project based on a real-life brief while placing a strong emphasis on sustainable architectural solutions. Through the competition, participants develop proposals that address contemporary challenges in architecture, construction, and sustainability, gaining valuable professional experience in an international environment.
This year’s international final brought together more than 1,300 students from 33 countries, who presented innovative design solutions and defended their projects before an international jury.
Although the RISEBA team did not place among the prize winners this year, Toms and Kitija presented their project with confidence and professionalism, representing both RISEBA and Latvia with distinction on the international stage.
Congratulations to Toms Herings and Kitija Lejniece on their successful participation, and we wish them every success in their future professional careers!
