RISEBA Students Represent the University at the SELL Student Games

From 22 to 24 May, Riga hosted the XLI SELL Student Games – one of the oldest and most prestigious international student sports events in Northern Europe, bringing together students from various countries and higher education institutions.

This year, RISEBA students represented the university across several disciplines, demonstrating determination, sportsmanship, and a willingness to challenge themselves in an international competitive environment.

The greatest achievement for the RISEBA team came in judo, where Andrejs Li won a silver medal and secured an impressive 2nd place, becoming one of RISEBA’s most notable sporting achievements at this year’s SELL Student Games.

RISEBA students also took part in the football tournament, gaining valuable experience and representing the university alongside strong student teams from different countries.

In the chess tournament, Madara Golsta placed 17th out of 34 participants, while also achieving 5th place in the women’s category, demonstrating strong concentration skills and competitiveness in intellectual sport.

RISEBA is proud of its students’ achievements and would like to thank all athletes for their dedication, determination, and for representing the university with such commitment and team spirit.

Special thanks to the RISEBA Student Council for supporting student participation in the SELL Student Games by providing funding from the Student Council budget.
