RISEBA FAD Students Win 1st Place in the National Stage of the Architecture Student Contest
Third-year Bachelor’s students from the RISEBA Faculty of Architecture and Design – Toms Herings, Kitija Lejniece and Annija Naroga – have once again won 1st place in the national stage of the international Architecture Student Contest, earning the opportunity to represent Latvia in the international final in Serbia.
In the competition, students work in teams of 2–3 participants. The RISEBA team stood out with a conceptually strong and carefully developed proposal, demonstrating a clear architectural vision, functional precision, and a sustainable approach to design.
The international competition brief challenged participants to develop a sustainable and context-sensitive architectural proposal for Belgrade, integrating principles of energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and user comfort into a contemporary residential architecture concept.
The student team developed an innovative accommodation concept for visiting athletes, creating a functional, high-quality and sustainable living environment tailored to the needs of sports professionals during competitions and training periods.
The jury highly evaluated the project’s strong architectural vision, structured planning, and thoughtful integration of sustainability principles.
The international final will take place in Serbia in June 2026, where the RISEBA Faculty of Architecture and Design will represent Latvia alongside the best student teams from around the world.
