RISEBA FAD students and lecturers stand out at the Latvian Architecture Award 2025

The Latvian Association of Architects (LAS) Architecture Award 2025 ceremony brought outstanding success to the RISEBA Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD) community – the works of its students, lecturers, and alumni were among this year’s laureates.

The Grand Prix of the Latvian Architecture Award was presented to RISEBA FAD lecturer Liene Šiliņa (MADE arhitekti) for the Salaspils Kindergarten project, as well as to Helēne Gutmane (ALPS Landscape Studio) for the landscape design created under the guidance of Ilze Rukšāne.

The Annual Architecture Award went to RISEBA FAD student Marta Ventere for her diploma project “Spatiality of Borders – Rehabilitation of Latvia’s Eastern Borderlands.” The prototype was implemented in Dagda, Latgale, under the supervision of Liene Šiliņa, with the participation of RISEBA students, alumni, and lecturer Rūdolfs Bekićs.

Another Annual Architecture Award was granted to Sampling studio for the project “Augustīne Garden,” whose design team included RISEBA FAD alumna Zane Saulīte. The project also involved ALPS Landscape Studio designers Ilze Rukšāne (RISEBA FAD lecturer) and Sendija Adītāja.

Additionally, Liene Šiliņa, as part of MADE arhitekti, received the Bauhaus Award, while RISEBA FAD leading researcher Jānis Lejnieks was honored with the jury’s special prize awarded to the magazine “Latvijas Arhitektūra” for his work as editor-in-chief.

🎉Congratulations to winners – and thank you for your creativity, energy, and contribution to the development of architectural quality and thought in Latvia!
