Second-Year Audiovisual Media Arts Students Conclude the Academic Year with Film Premieres

Second-year students of the Audiovisual Media Arts programme have successfully completed the courses “TV and Film Dramaturgy, Dramatic Structure and Production” (lecturer Lelde Kovaļova) and “TV and Film Production III” (lecturer Vadims Zaikovskis), presenting their final projects and demonstrating the knowledge and practical skills they have acquired throughout the academic year.

A particular highlight was the premiere of the students’ short films Slugs, The Feast and Five Minutes and I’ll Be Gone at Cinamon Akropole Alfa cinema, where the films were screened before an audience for the very first time. The productions were developed in a professional filmmaking environment, giving students the opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals and experience every stage of the filmmaking process – from concept development and screenwriting to production and premiere.

As part of the TV and Film Production III course, students also presented their production projects to lecturer Vadims Zaikovskis and invited guest producer Vladimirs Razarionovs, who provided valuable professional feedback and encouraged the students to continue developing their skills as they prepare for careers in the film industry.

These projects demonstrate the students’ creativity, dedication and ability to work collaboratively in a professional production environment. Each completed project represents an important step towards a future career in film and provides invaluable experience that will serve as a strong foundation for their continued professional development.

We are proud of our students’ hard work, ambitious ideas and outstanding achievements. Their next significant milestone is the development of their bachelor’s graduation projects, where they will have the opportunity to further refine their creative vision and showcase the professional skills they have gained during their studies.
