RISEBA Faculty of Architecture and Design Dean Participates in Deans’ Summit Prague 2026
Rūdolfs Dainis Smits, Dean of the RISEBA Faculty of Architecture and Design, took part in the international summit of architecture school deans – Deans’ Summit Prague 2026, organized by the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU).
The summit brought together deans of architecture schools from across Europe to discuss the future of architectural education and its development directions. This year’s central theme – “Back to Basics: Rethinking Curriculum through Making” – emphasized the importance of hands-on approaches in the study process, working with materials, and strengthening the connection between academia and professional practice.
Participation in the summit provided an opportunity not only to explore the latest trends in architectural education, but also to actively engage in discussions on curriculum development, exchange of experience, and the establishment of new international collaborations.
RISEBA’s representation at the summit strengthens the university’s presence in the international academic environment and promotes the transfer of knowledge and innovation into the study process. The insights gained will be integrated into the study programmes of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, continuing to develop contemporary, practice-based, and internationally competitive education.
