RISEBA Faculty of Architecture and Design graduate nominated for the Latvian Architecture Award 2025

The Faculty of Architecture and Design at RISEBA is proud to announce that graduate Marta Ventere’s bachelor thesis “Spatiality of the Border – Rehabilitation of the Latvian Eastern Frontier” has been submitted for the prestigious Latvian Architecture Award 2025.

The project is competing in the Process category, alongside other outstanding works, for a place in the final stage of the Award organised by the Latvian Association of Architects.

The thesis was supervised by Liena Šiliņa, with the support of Helvijs Savickis and the association “Perifēriju centrs”. The project was also financially supported by the Culture Capital Foundation of Latvia.

Earlier this year, from 7–9 August, Marta and her team took part in the SAABRI / SĀBRE festival in the border town of Dagda. Within the “Peripheral Tectonics” section of the festival, the pavilion “Saplūsmes: pieturpunkts pierobežā” (“Fusions: A Stopover at the Border”) was built.

We are proud of our student’s creative work and her courage to address important topics that resonate both within the professional field of architecture and in society at large.Credits:
