Student to Student – Guide for Freshman

Hi! I’m Beatrise, a third-year student in the Business Psychology programme, and I still remember how exciting (and at the same time, terrifying) it felt to start this new chapter of life. To help you settle in more easily and enjoy your studies from day one, I’ve put together a short guide with tips & tricks and advice that I personally found very useful (or wish I had!).
If you have any questions about studies, processes, or opportunities over time, feel free to message me. 😉
Student Council.
This is the place where the most active, friendly, and creative students come together. They organise events, represent students’ interests at the university, and are your best allies. I highly recommend joining the Student Council so your university years aren’t just spent sitting in lectures, but also going to events and socialising. If you want to settle into student life quickly and meet great people, the SC is the perfect place to start.
P.S. You’ll always have somewhere to hang out, because the Student Council has its own room on Meža Street. 😉

Be ready to learn and be inspired.
Get everything you can from your studies – this time is one of a kind. And most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask questions. The only silly question is the one you don’t ask. At the end of the day, we’re all just people who were once freshers too. Ask, be curious, and talk to others.
Make the most of every opportunity your university offers.
Go to conferences and events. You miss 100% of the opportunities you don’t take. If you don’t like it, you can always leave – but sometimes the best things come from the most unexpected situations.
RISEBA is a place where you can grow – both professionally and personally.
Here you’ll meet people who will inspire you, challenge you, and offer you opportunities you couldn’t have imagined. You’ll learn not only in lectures, but also in breaks, projects, conversations, and adventures.
Time at university flies, and before you know it, you’ll find yourself at three in the morning, writing your bachelor’s thesis. 😀

Enjoy your university years – they’ll be gone in the blink of an eye! (Speaking from experience)
Good luck, and see you in the halls of RISEBA!
