During the visit to the University of Nicosia, international opportunities for RISEBA public relations and advertising students were discussed

Vita Stiģe-Škuškovnika, Head of the “Information and Communication Science” Department at the Business, Arts, and Technology University RISEBA, and Elvīra Lapsa, Director of the Bachelor’s study programme “Public Relations and Advertising Management” (PRAM), visited the University of Nicosia (UNIC) in Cyprus to promote inter-university cooperation in the field of communication at both undergraduate and master’s study levels.

As part of the visit, meetings were held with representatives of the University of Nicosia’s Communication Department management and lecturers to discuss the development of study fields, the implementation of double degree opportunities, academic approaches, and industry trends. During the discussions, common interests and possibilities for closer cooperation in the future were identified. Real ideas were explored for the implementation of joint study courses or modules, the promotion of Erasmus+ international mobility for students and lecturers, as well as the realisation of joint projects.

RISEBA representatives had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with UNIC’s learning environment and impressive infrastructure, which includes modern laboratories, audiovisual media studios, a library, cafés, relaxation areas, and more.

Additionally, V. Stiģe-Škuškovnika and E. Lapsa met with RISEBA PRAM students who are currently studying at the University of Nicosia as part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme. The students shared their impressions of the study process and daily life in Cyprus, emphasising the importance of international experience for academic and personal growth.

This visit marks new opportunities for future collaboration between RISEBA and UNIC, fostering international experience exchange and academic development. The first steps of cooperation will be implemented in the next academic year.

The visit was organised within the framework of the Erasmus+ staff development programme for experience exchange.
